Teka oven error 630e

630E Error on Teka Ovens

What 630E usually indicates on a Teka oven

The 630E error on Teka ovens is usually linked to an electronic fault that prevents the oven from starting or operating safely. In practical terms, the control detects an abnormal condition (for example, a short circuit, an overload, or an inconsistent reading in the power circuit) and blocks the appliance to prevent further damage.

It is common for 630E to appear in situations such as:

  • The oven powers on and then cuts out almost immediately
  • The RCD/breaker trips when starting up or when selecting a heating function
  • The code appears after a brief power interruption or a sudden reconnection and the oven becomes unusable

In short, 630E tends to point to the control/power electronics or to an electrical component that is creating an unsafe condition (wiring, heating element, forced ventilation, etc.), rather than a user setting.

How to clear 630E and what to check before calling Teka service

With 630E, it is best to follow an order that rules out the simple causes and, if the fault persists, avoids repeated attempts that could make things worse. If at any point you notice a burning smell or the electrical panel trips repeatedly, stop and move straight to service.

  1. Perform a full electrical reset (a real reset)
    • Switch off the oven’s circuit breaker at the panel
    • Wait 10 minutes to fully discharge the electronics
    • Restore power and test the oven in one single function (for example, top/bottom heat) for 1–2 minutes

If 630E was a one-off lockout, this reset is the step most likely to recover it.

  2. Check whether the error appears “cold” or only when heat is requested
    • Appears immediately without selecting anything: this usually points to the control/electronics
    • Appears when you select a heating function: this fits more with a power component (heating element, fan, wiring) triggering protection
  3. Rule out a ventilation issue (if your model has a fan)
    • Make sure the ventilation openings are not blocked
    • If the oven is tightly enclosed or heat is trapped, let it cool down and test again
    • If the fan does not run when it should, the oven may protect itself for safety
  4. If the electrical panel trips, do not keep trying
    • If the RCD or breaker trips when you try to start, cut the power
    • This behaviour often indicates an earth leakage or a short circuit in a component
    • Repeated attempts can worsen the damage or cause unwanted overheating
  5. When to call a technician, and what to tell them to save time
    • 630E returns after the 10-minute reset
    • The oven always locks out when heat is selected or it trips the panel protections
    • There are clear signs: burning smell, clicking noises, zones that do not heat and then the error

It helps the technician a lot if you can say when it appears (on power-up / when requesting heat / after X minutes) and whether the electrical panel trips. With that information, they can quickly focus on the control board, heating elements, and wiring.

If 630E was caused by a temporary lockout, a full reset may be enough. If it returns or comes with electrical trips, the safest and most efficient route is to diagnose the power stage and the control electronics to correct the root cause and prevent bigger failures
